Collins Memorial United Methodist Church

Food Pantry

The following is from Jeanie Tidwell:

"As I went grocery shopping this week, I met a young woman.  She heard that I belong to Collins Memorial U.M.C..  With tears (she said they were tears of joy and gratitude) she told me of both she and her husband being out of a job – no food in the house.      She came to Collins and met a lopvely lady whose name was “Cindy.”  She didn’t know the last name but she said that Cindy saved their lives – she had applied for food stamps but they told her it would take 30 days to get them started – that Was the rule no exceptions.  She came to Collins and there was no 30 day waiting and Cindy made her feel like she was happy to help them.  Thank you  Cindy from this lady and all of us for making the world a better place for all of God’s children."

The food pantry has  become a significant ministry that the church is proud of.  We have a good staff composed of members of the church, and we are getting regular volunteers from the community and other churches.

We are aligned with the Atlanta Food Bank and follow their guidelines.
